Vice President of Operations
Martin has over 20 years of direct repair and management experience in the railcar and logging industries. Martin started his career at Northwest Freightcar in Longview, Washington as a railcar repairman. During this time Martin was a D15.1 qualified welder, and became fluent in inspecting, repairing, and billing various types of freight railcars.
Martin became a shop manager in Manly, Iowa for The Andersons Rail Group in 2013. Martin went on to manage multiple facilities for The Andersons Rail Group including full-service contract shops, agent-for shops, tank car repair shops, and hybrid shops. In 2020 Martin began managing Union Tank Car's full-service tank car repair shop in Marion, Ohio, and held the role until joining SA Rail in 2022. Martin has proficiency in freight and tank car repair, wreck repair, railcar shop operations, lean manufacturing, railcar safety, quality, human resources, railcar billing, and repair contract negotiations.
Martin obtained an associate degree in business & marketing from Lower Columbia College in 2012. He lives with his family in Northwest Ohio.
